I'm not sure if you can relate, but often I get so busy focusing on the demands of life that moments just pass me by. Organizing and preparing for family gatherings can sometimes take over the fun of actually spending time with family. I simultaneously wish my kids were older and want them to stay babies forever. I am so passionate about my work, that I feel resentment being pulled away from it, yet recognize that work/life balance and boundaries are healthy. 

For me, a photo transcends time. It somehow packages all of the feelings, smells, and sounds of a moment and presses "play" on a memory. As an empathic introvert with ADHD, sometimes viewing my surroundings from the sidelines is my preference. With a camera, I can get a global feel of everything going on. 

I love art and creativity in so many forms: I trained in classical piano for 12 years as a child, my seamstress mom made all my fashion designs come alive in high school, and I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design. Photography has become a lasting love as it trains me to become present in the moment in front of me. I am able to tell a moment, "No, you won't go unnoticed. You get to stay."
